Swiss Goldline Accessible Services
Wheelchair Accessible Transport in Switzerland
Geneva · Lausanne · Zurich. Ramp-access vehicles, trained chauffeurs, door-to-door
Swiss Goldline operates wheelchair-accessible vehicles across Switzerland for airport arrivals, clinic appointments, events and travel. You can stay in your own chair for the journey or transfer to a seat, and your chauffeur is trained to assist with either, or to stay out of the way if you would rather manage it yourself.
We are a private chauffeur company, not a medical transport operator. The vehicle is adapted; the service is the same premium standard as the rest of our fleet.
Vehicles
Accessible vehicle specifications
If you need a measurement that is not here, call us and we will go and measure it.
If you prefer to transfer to a passenger seat, your chauffeur will assist with the transfer and stow your chair securely for the journey. If you use a powered chair or a scooter, tell us the model when you book so we can confirm the dimensions and weight before you arrive rather than at the kerb.
For passengers who do not use a wheelchair but have limited mobility, our standard Mercedes V-Class offers a higher seat position and wider door aperture than a saloon, with step assistance and support from your chauffeur.
Full vehicle dimensions, ramp details, securement system and weight limits are confirmed on request until published on this page.
Assistance
What your chauffeur does, and what they don't
Our chauffeurs are trained in safe transfer technique, wheelchair handling and securement, and door-to-door assistance.
In practice that means: meeting you where you are rather than at the vehicle, assisting with the ramp and securement, carrying luggage, accompanying you to a door, a reception desk or a clinic entrance rather than stopping at the kerb, and waiting until you are inside.
What they do not do is provide medical or nursing care. We are not an ambulance service and our chauffeurs are not medically qualified. If a journey needs clinical supervision, oxygen, a stretcher or a medically trained attendant, tell us and we will say so plainly, and help you arrange the right operator rather than take the booking.
We also follow your lead on assistance. Some passengers want a chauffeur alongside them throughout; others manage independently and want the ramp down and the door open. Tell us which when you book, and if you don't, we will ask once rather than assume.

Airports
Geneva and Zurich airport assistance
Airport assistance and your transfer are two different services, and knowing which is which saves a lot of confusion on arrival.
Assistance inside the terminal, from the aircraft door through immigration and baggage to the arrivals hall. Is provided by the airport itself and is free of charge. You book it through your airline, not through us, and airlines generally ask for at least 48 hours' notice before departure.
We handle everything from the arrivals hall onward: meeting you with the accessible vehicle, loading, securement, and the journey to your destination. We coordinate directly with the airport assistance team so there is no gap between someone handing you over and someone meeting you, which is the point in the process where things most often go wrong.
If you are arriving at a private aviation terminal, the arrangement is simpler: we meet the aircraft directly and the vehicle is on the apron.
If you have not booked airport assistance and are not sure how, tell us when you book your transfer and we will talk you through it or arrange it with your airline on your behalf.

Clinics
Clinic and hospital transfers
We run accessible transfers to and from clinics and hospitals across Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, Nyon and Genolier, including recurring appointments where the same chauffeur and the same vehicle attend each time, which matters more than it sounds when a journey is routine and regular.
Our chauffeurs know clinic access points, where to set down for step-free entry, and where to wait. For appointments with uncertain finishing times we hold the vehicle rather than asking you to call and wait.
If you are travelling to Switzerland for treatment, our medical concierge service handles the clinic appointments, accommodation, interpreters and accompanying family alongside the transport.
Travel and events
Accessible travel around Switzerland
Switzerland is easier than most countries for accessible travel and harder than its reputation suggests. Trains and stations are largely step-free and the public transport system is genuinely good. But the old towns are cobbled and steep, many historic hotels have lifts that predate wheelchairs, mountain villages are built on gradients, and a surprising number of "accessible" entrances are round the back next to the bins.
What we do is drive to the right door. For sightseeing, events, weddings and family occasions, that means setting down where access actually works rather than where the main entrance happens to be, and waiting nearby instead of leaving you to arrange a return journey.
For the Alps we will tell you honestly what is workable before you book. Some resorts and viewpoints are fully accessible and excellent; others are not, whatever their website says. If you tell us where you want to go, we will say which it is.
Frequently asked questions
Can I stay in my wheelchair during the journey?
Yes. Our vehicles are fitted with ramp access and a securement system so you can remain in your own chair, restrained by a three-point belt at the wheelchair position. If you would rather transfer to a passenger seat, your chauffeur will assist and stow your chair for the journey, it is entirely your choice and we will ask rather than assume.
Do you provide wheelchair-accessible vehicles in Geneva and Zurich?
Yes, across Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, Zurich and the rest of Switzerland.
How do I book wheelchair assistance at Geneva Airport?
Assistance inside the terminal is provided free of charge by the airport and is booked through your airline, not through the airport directly, with airlines generally asking for at least 48 hours' notice before departure. We handle the transfer from the arrivals hall onward and coordinate with the assistance team so there is no gap in the handover. If you are not sure how to arrange it, tell us when you book and we will help.
Is this a medical or ambulance service?
No. We are a private chauffeur company operating adapted vehicles, and our chauffeurs are trained in mobility assistance but are not medically qualified. If your journey requires clinical supervision, oxygen, a stretcher or a medically trained attendant, we will tell you so and help you find the right operator rather than take the booking.
How much does accessible transport cost?
Accessible journeys are quoted like any other, on the route, the duration and the vehicle, as a fixed fare agreed before you travel.
Can someone travel with me?
Yes. A companion, family member or carer travels at no additional charge.
Do your chauffeurs help me to the door?
Yes. Our chauffeurs accompany you to a door, reception desk or clinic entrance rather than stopping at the kerb, assist with luggage, and wait until you are inside. If you would prefer to manage independently, tell us and we will simply have the ramp down and the door open.
Can I book regular, recurring journeys?
Yes, and for recurring appointments we assign the same chauffeur and the same vehicle wherever scheduling allows. Regular journeys are quoted as a standing arrangement rather than booked individually each time.
Do you serve the Alpine resorts?
Yes, with the caveat that accessibility varies enormously between resorts and sometimes between buildings in the same village. Tell us where you want to go and we will tell you honestly what is workable before you book rather than after you arrive.
